Hi,
I'm in same boat. My first try succeeded with geranium and lantana. I started japanese apricot, caryopteris, buddleia, redtwig dogwood, salvia greggii, and licorice plant last week. So far all alive. I'll let you know.

I think you will have better luck with house plants than with woody ornamentals, but Crepe Myrtle did root in it for me. I suspect (haven't tried) that Oleander would root in it...they are pretty fast. Roses (that I tried) all rotted. A very fast rooting rose might do it for you. It just wasn't nearly dependable enough for me to bother with.

Anything that roots fast will probably root in oasis... but slow to root may rot because it is a very wet medium. I did not leave them sitting in water, but did use a humidity chamber, so there was no loss of moisture.

Well at least it's not just me then... I have had much more luck with wet sand. SC's humid air seems to make for a natural misting machine.

Maybe crepe myrtle will be my winner...

Aquarius, Crepes should root almost anywhere. I just potted up 13 this morning.. 13 out of 13 under mist in 3 weeks with nice big roots. I never learn to cut the numbers down... LOL

I have had success with winecups. I'm going to try some more this spring.
