What r u rooting.I root in sand or sand peat mix in well drained flats 4 inches deep.Water once a day and keep in a shade/part indirect sun area.

I have been very successful with green softwood cuttings of grapevines and basil in plain old water, then moving to very shaded areas till they harden off.

I have been successful with dormant cuttings of grapevines and pomegranates in 50/50 peat and perlite. They get leaves within 2-4 weeks, and I let them establish for another month or two to be sure there are roots to support the leaves.

Dormant Figs and grape cuttings have also grown well laid on their sides in a dirt trench about 1.5" deep and covered loosely with damp soil.

Air layering is 100%!! Google that! Simple, easy, no fail!

look at the basics: 1) cuttings of firm new growth (soft wood) cuttings usually work best but depends on species.
2) CUTTINGS SHOULD BE 4-6 INCHES LONG & REDUCE LEAF AREA TO BARE MINIMUM 3) rooting hormone helps all cuttings root faster & strength from 0.1% to 0.9% is the normal range to strong for species will "burn" the cutting. to weak a strength will not affect cutting. (3) soil should be well drained & kept damp not wet. 4) mist to keep humidity high (& delay de-hydration) can be maintained by using a spray bottle several times a day 5) light should be subdued not direct sunlight, 6) should be a very light draft this will prevent fungal growth. 7) temperature should be in the 70's F 8) time to root formation depends on species & the above conditions.
