I'm hoping for input. I have rennovated at 1930s semi and am now able to start on the garden. In front of the french doors there is a square area with cement crazy pavement path arount it enclosed in privet hedge.

The other side of the grass and square area there is a rectangle area with shrubs and full of bulbs in the spring. Beyond that I have 12 m by 10 m. I have a few shrubs and small fruit trees here but would like to do something with this area, preferably inline with the period. Veg plot is what I would like to put it but do not know whether they would have just had a square veg plot or small squares with a path down the middle etc. Also what flowering plants were popular. Also any books people would recommend for 30s gardens thanks a lot Emma
