Fungicides for cuttings

What is the consensus on using fungicides for cuttings?

What Ive been doing is drenching the medium with a diluted soultion of daconil and neem oil then irrigating it thoroughly before i stick the cuttings - so basically the medium is somewaht sterile but has little or no fungicide in it once the cuttings are in the medium.

every once in a while if the medium stays too wet I notice some mold and fungus - so I'd like to use somehting else too, but I thought I remember reading somewhere, maybe in "making more plants" that fungicides can impede rooting. But I also know that many people use them as a matter of course.

What do the pros use? Oh, FYI I do not have an intermittent mist system - I use the domes and standard 10X20 flats or poly-bag individual cuttings in small containers.
