I am curious as to the botanical name of your braided tree, but see no problem with a larger pot as long as the potting soil is VERY well drained. A small plant in a large pot is only a problem if the soil is depending on the plant to remove the water that will not drain from the pot. Most bagged potting soils available at garden centers would benefit from having about 20% perlite added before being used to improve the drainage. Al

Thanks rosco for the name. I see no connection with the common name of "Money Tree" unless it refers to the possible profits of nurseries selling it. Would like to see it in bloom, especially when it has been braided as pictured. Al
