Looks like (de)construction is moving right along Mel. Is that "our " former brick wall we're looking at? Really like the remains of the rock wall in back.

Unfortuantely, that is my front yard--taken facing left just outside my front door. Here is a pic of the wall they removed---
See the crack in the wall? It had gotten significantly bigger in the months preceding the de(con)struction. That wall holds up my driveway--and wasn't going to do so for much longer! You can read the saga in this forum---I've included a link to one of the earlier threads.

What you CAN'T see is that where the concrete footer APPEARS to end in the first picture I posted is ACTUALLY where the wall jogs to the right--and there is another 20 feet of wall-and then the wall makes a 90 degree turn back into the hill for another seven feet. I'm a lunatic--and we are just waiting on STONE.

Perry--we must've been posting at the same time. Yes, that is "our" brick wall...and the drystacked looking wall will stay... my contractor says he can tie into it--and support it from behind--turns out NONE of the walls in this sectionof the yard had proper footers. Thank goodness the BIG retaining wall (11+ft tall) on the other side of the house was constructed at a different time--and Scott (my contractor) THINKS was built properly. (If only because it isn't showing any signs of leaning/decay!)

As you can see--THIS wall will have a proper footing. And they will be weaving rebar in and out of the uprights, and adding more, as the wall gets taller...If we ever get the *&^#$% stone.

FEAR NOT! Now that I've figured out how to imbed pics--I will post a few as progress dictates.
