i don't know what would be worse, dig them myself or listen to them P+M about doing it for mom. i always thought they should start a little business digging garden ponds, not finishing them, just digging the hole. like charge $50.00 to dig a 1000 gal hole or something along those lines......

Well, ther IS the PM factor. At our house we call it BMW the last two words are "moan" and "whine"--the first rhymes with "witch."

HOWEVER--mine are always happy for an excuse to dig a hole...or chop down a tree. Now, the STUMP of that tree may be higher than I want it...have plans for my 15 y/o--he'll be taking the prunus mume down this summer--and the ornamental plum. He can do quite a bit of it with loppers and a pruning saw. Not certain about the trunk--we may borrow a small chainsaw for that--and I'LL be doing the chainsawing. Or PERHAPS DH.

Those are the fun jobs (I know, weird). I always make my dear kids vacuum, and put clothes away, etc, so I can be out there with the pruning saw and digging those holes.
