I am so sorry for the loss of so many trees. May I suggest that you check on a forum for Florida or near your zone? This forum covers the whole country--and Canada--and most of us probably do not have the info you need. I hope this is the end of your storm problems. It has been a tough season for Florida.

thanks for the thoughts, ginny. i will be calling our local horticultural center, bt they took a big hit, so i'm waiting. i will try some of the fla. universities; maybe they've got something!

I'd be interested inknowing what SURVIVED...with little or no damage. That woiuld, i think, make for interesting reading...and thought provoking planting! I know when Hugo washed over the dunes at Sunset beach it looked as though all the myrtles were killed by the salt water..but within two summers you couldn't even TELL!
