Another thing some people need to do is make sure they spell the trader's name correctly including spaces when posting a review or searching for reviews. Unless someone's name is really short, I copy and paste the name because I do make too many spelling errors myself.

I just thought I'd post this here...seems it will get a lot of attention, and maybe some good answers.

Some time ago, it was discovered a thread had been started on an incorrect member name. It is a slight variation of the correct name. It was verified that the name was wrong by comparing the member's state of residence. It was mentioned in the review thread (way down in it) so I'm sure almost no one will ever see it. I'd suggest getting the post pulled, but then all would be lost. Additionally folks tend to get really upset when a review is pulled for whatever reason they might not know about. (See the Conversation side for my post Why "some" posts get deleted It would be the 'fifth' reason in my post. I almost think that would be better though than the wrong member name being connected to a thread with a negative Subject of posting line (which is why I like to just see the member name and nothing else).

My guess is that the member named in error has no idea of the negative review thread with her name in it.

What to do...what to do... What would you do? I hate to post anything to the thread. I never traded with the member. i just feel sorry for the misnamed member.

I don't think folks realize just how important it is to be sure and use the exact member name (only) in the subject line.

Stick a fork in me. I'm done (for now anyway).

Yes...threads 'started' after 10-17-07 won't be found on a search. Hopefully they will get it fixed and soon. In the meantime it is finding those reviews that were 'started' b4 10-17.

I would like to add that it would be nice of everyone would take the time to use this forum..I know I slacked off a bit, but I have done over 100 trades and have only three comments, which can make some people think you arent a good trader...

Remy, such a great point, but I just started coming over here back at the cookbook swap, everyone should do a search first, but I still forget sometimes myself (to come here and look) I guess because I don't trade seeds that often and I feel like everyone else knows me, lol. So not true, big world out there!

Have a list of traders to add reviews for -- impossible for me to go thru all pages searching till find them all with my sight . . pls do not think I've forgotten any of you marvelous traders, I e-mail every trader to thank them, believe it's important they know how much I appreciate their seeds, their time and trade. I've written something similar to this on Conversation side but know many don't read it. Thought I'd get lots R&R's written during cold wintry days but without a working Search Engine . . .

Took me over an hour last night to do a bunch of reviews just because of the difficulty searching for previous reviews. Will they ever completely fix the search function? Hope I found 'em all.

Woohoo! It appears the search is now working. It even found and took me to some that were posted 1-28...and it is supposed to maybe take 24 hours for a new thread to be found on a search.

Is it now working for anyone/everyone else?

It seems to have found those 'lost' posts that had been started after Oct 17th.

Maybe someone should go and post to that, that it is NOW FIXED...and then a little later start a new Please do a name search before starting e new review thread...or something like that.

Whatcha all think?

I think it would be a good idea to post a "search for member before starting a new thread",thread.I have noticed some people are still posting new threads even though that members feedback thread is on page one.I am sure they just don't know,I didn't when I first started,...lol...,I think I was the reason for this thread!:)

Yes...but...the search is now out again. GW updated us though about their ongoing efforts to get it fixed.
