Beautiful wallpaper! You can really choose from a variety of colors and styles. Here are a few geometric and large pattern that could work for you. Good Luck!

Thanks for your help!

Plain, especially if you expect the rug to outlast the wallpaper, you'll want to consider how easily it could work with future decorating schemes.

What colors? I like to keep the dining room pretty neutral so I can use accent colors on the table with the dishes, holiday decorations, etc.? The floors are hardwood, a medium brown color.

I'd go with a fairly deep/saturated warm beige perhaps -- a neutral, in any event, which will go nicely with the undertones of your new wallpaper. Too dark and white 'fluff' will show, and too light and of course the opposite. Do you have any particular favorites in colors however? Sometimes just using a color that always draws you to it and makes you feel good is a nice idea ...

I definitely think you could go with an Oriental rug...something with subtle color and an antique almost tea-stained look. Take a look at this luscious room with damask wallpaper and a perfectly coordinated rug. Some shops will allow you to take rugs home on approval to try out with your decor.

Actually I agree with michigammemom (what? my spell check doesn't like that?!) considering that lovely photo. Pretty much comes down to your personal taste and also -- not a minor point -- your budget.

Well, I'm going to go in a different direction with this and say big pattern, mix of contemporary and traditional for impact/interest---Good Luck! [houzz=][houzz=][houzz=][houzz=][houzz=]

Thanks for all the feedback...to be honest I don't know if damask is contemporary or classic or whatever...I just like the way it looks! :) All of the suggestions are great!

Technically it's classic, but of course it can always be 'reinterpreted' in modern colors, etc., to make it more contemporary. Your particular wallpaper, mind you, appears to be classic.
