Hm. That's a good topic. I just got five fresh seeds of JJ Pinwheel from a friend and none of them made it, whereas most of my Gladys O'Neal seeds took off for me.

Astrl, I also use the damp paper towel method on all mine and this is the second batch that disappointed while other batches from the same time period thrived. Hope your Katie Moragne seeds make it to germination--those would be some gorgeous offspring!

There must be some inherent weakness in certain plumeria varieties' seeds, just like there are in tomatoes or petunias or anything else. Just a lack of offspring vigor, I guess.

According to the Eggenberger book, some plants produce more sterile seeds than others. I wondered if the cutting was just too young to produce a healthy seed pod. I do see EWC#3 seeds for sale, so it must produce viable ones at some point.
