Gypsy SkuttleButt
I've seen much discussion recently regarding Gypsy pepper.....and i must say i too have a degree of confusion this season....i cannot complain of the performance i'm getting from these plants, they are doing much better than my CalWonders and my BigBertha....but the variety this year seems different somehow....the plants are producing several peppers each, but all seem to be rather small and much lighter in color than in previous years...and the most interesting feature is the mild hotness the peppers have, which is fine, but surprising...in past years, these peppers always were some of the sweetest, especially after ripening to orange color....i find these peppers excellent for sandwiches & salads, especially if sliced thin...they also dont have many seeds to contend with....they are also good when mixed in with jalepeno, or other hot peppers when pickled.....anybody have any feedback on their '06 pepper season??...especially on Gypsies??.......(PepperBoy)
