Blooming seedlings!

It's been a few years since I planted four dozen assorted seeds ordered from Brad's, but I was blessed with several inflos over the last couple of seasons.

Here are four new ones, in order of Wow Factor :)

Second Mardi Gras seedling inflo, on about a 3-1/2 y.o. plant that's about 2-1/2 feet tall. Tiny, but has a strong jasmine scent and good color potential:

Second Veracruz Rose seedling inflo (the first VCR seedling dropped all its buds--wah!), on a palm-tree like plant that's the same age as above but about 3 feet tall:

Good size and color potential, and sometimes a good scent, too.

First Mardi Gras seedling inflo, with a 3-1/2" bloom that fades quickly. It's barely 3-1/2 y.o. and 3 feet tall:

Can't really blame it for fading in nearly 100 degree heat :)

And finally, this Muang Sayyem seedling that just opened, after an excruciating wait. The first few buds dropped so I'm happy to have some survivors:

Totally worth it! Hard color to capture but this is pretty close:

Not only am I impressed, I now want to throw all of my seedlings that have bloomed in the chipper. Yours are gorgeous, and have a good scent. I guess scent DOESN'T have to develop. :(

Love them all but the last one, the red one was a knock out.
I am the type that likes to read the end of the book first, then start from there, you were killing me with the tease, but well worth the wait in deed.

Astrl, don't say that! They usually get better, even in the scent department. Thank you for the kind words, though.

I think most of the seeds from Brad's come originally from Kukiat's farms, so there's always good cross-breeding potential and I lucked out.

James, thank you too for the kind words! That last one looks very much like photos of Malika but after several days they haven't faded at all.

You've given me a great idea for a name, though: Teaser. LOL!

Just beautiful. Seeds are like little presents you never know what you get and you got some beautiful flowers. Great Job and enjoy, Barb

They are fabulous!! Like James mentioned... I was waiting and I loved the " grand finale". That my dear is a stunner!!

Makes me want to keep my seedlings too!!

Thank you, everyone! Seedlings are like waiting for Christmas to come.

That first little Mardi Gras seedling bloom was followed by another tiny one with a much richer color and interesting shape like the parent blooms. It's like watching your kids grow and change as they get bigger.

Laura, I'm thinking "Teaser" or "Austin Beauty" since Austin hasn't had any plumeria named after it, so far as I know. The blooms start nearly red and have now gone a lavender-y pink. They last a long time on the inflo and are starting to smell a little Dr. Pepperish.
