Well what do you know about it? Any clues?

I will guess it is capsicum chinese. Most are hot but a few have little or no heat.

can you please explain what is meant by

Seed@&$*.com

gardendawgie, I'm guessing that stquack ordered some bhut jolokia seeds from seedrack.com, and guess what? They didn't turn out to be bhut jolokias but instead Carribean Red Habaneros. But it is just a guess. There are several other posts on GW complaining about the same thing.

midwestchilehead Is right, Seedrack sold me some junk seeds. I think it would of been better if the seeds never germination. So what do you think i'm growing??

Same thing happened to my buddy and I....

Thought we were getting Bhuts, ended up with some form of Habañero instead.
Most folks seem to think that they're Caribbean Reds, however our first
pods are turning orange...

If we got ordinary orange Habañeros, I'll be pissed. I do have to give them credit
for uniformly selling the wrong seeds - too consistent to be a single mix-up.

Warn everyone not to buy from Seedrack.com -

Josh

This trend is becoming a bit too frequent. I had the same thing happen with Hirt's Seeds via Amazon.com. I'm still waiting to see if the Chiltepin they sent me is correct but I'm kind of guessing it won't be.

Anyone want to take bets?

P.S. I finally ordered seeds from New Mexico State University. They were a bit more pricey but I'm guessing they are a reliable source.

red habanero of some kind...heat varies.

I have bhuts from both NMSU and Hirts, but don't have any pods yet. I had flowers on one of my bhuts and thought I would have some pods, but went on vacation for a week (during 105 degree heat) and came back to a sad, shriveled plant. I repotted into a 5-gal bucket last week and it is perking up, but doubt I will get any pods before it freezes here. Damn, and I so wanted some bhuts this year. Aw well, maybe next year. Tough year for growing chiles in the Midwest.
