yup depending on the type you have they vary in size a bit, mine go from about a cherry tomato to a golf ball

I like eating them as is just chopping off the top and pulling the seeds out, you can core them and stuff them for appetizers roast them, halve them for salads or stir drys, there just like normal bell in terms a taste

Hmmm, I harvested seeds out of some "Mini Bells" that I purchased in the supermarket. Red, orange & Yellow. They were more shaped like a regular bell pepper...maybe a slight bit skinnier but then about 1/4 to 1/3 the size of a regular bell. They certainly didn't look like these. I am kind of anxious to grow some out and see what I get.

there are a few hybrids that are much larger in size that the picture I posted just varies on type Ive seen a few hybrid about the same size but most are like 2x4+, I grow heirlooms from seed savers

Yup I pickled a bunch last year, just make sure you core them

The mini bells in Homefry's pic look more like pimentos to me. When I grew the mini bells, they were more bell shaped, like these:

there are many shaped like that as well, the picture is of a bushel(about 30lbs)

but as I said it depends on the strain you grow, the ones in my photo are heirlooms

I got tired of not having full-sized bells produce well, so this year I tried mini-bells: red, yellow, orange, and chocolate. They are now all turning and are no more than about 1.5 inches across, which is fine for me because I use them mostly for stir fries and in vegetable rice dishes, so they are chopped. I might stuff some of them, they are very productive plants, especially when grown in pots. As opposed to that, I have two California Wonder plants: one has 2 mid-size peppers, the other is just setting blossoms. Not worth it.

I harvested some seeds out of an Orange Bell that i purchased from the supermarket. I planted some of the seeds about 1 month later than my others. It started putting out blooms about the same time as my others and I snipped the early pods that developed at the end of May. At the time, I was really worried I had made a mistake because I was already behind where I wanted to be with all my peppers. It took a while but rebloomed and started resetting more pods. I now have 8 or 9 pods on the plant ranging in size from full size to pea size. They are all still green at this point but two of them are basically full grown right now. I still have a month to go and hope to get 2-3 to ripen fully and I will probably have to pick the others green. I was surprised by how well this plant is doing. I expected results more like northerner_on.
