Miniature Roses

best miniatures for me to try

last year i tried some standard rose bushes. i had queen Elizabeth, and a red one... i can't remember the name of it. anyways, i didn't like them much. they were too tall and the blooms were too sporadic for my taste. i would really like something shorter and more blooms. does anyone have any ideas for something that does well in Texas humidity? I'd love to hear your opinions for me. oh, and the roses would be in full sun all day

You may want to look at the 'Earth-Kind' tested roses. They are roses of different classes that have been tested for hardeness. There are quite a few and some such as Caldwell Pink are small in size.

I like 'Caldwell Pink' too. Extremely healthy rose.

Another EarthKind rose that's even smaller in size is 'Marie Daly'.
These two roses perform much, much better than any miniature rose here in Texas, although they are larger than a typical miniature rose.

look up the Dallas rose society and they can tell you what minis do best in your area or better yet go to one of their meeting they would love to help you out
