I just got her as a band and hoping she is doing as well for me in my climate zone. Maybe I can chime in singing her praise later this year, too!

My past experience with Heritage was that while the flowers were quite pretty and fragrant and the plant repeated well, the flowers fell apart way too fast. They would open one day and be gone the next. I also had problems with blackspot and, worst of all, rust. I almost lost it to the rust.

I understand Austin thinks she's his best. My regret is the zero lasting power for a bouquet. Mine also gets rust/blackspot in the late fall (no spraying). And she took longer to establish than any other rose I've had. Abraham Darby settled right in but Heritage didn't show her power until year 5 or so. Since then it's been gorgeous displays.

A rose that self-cleans itself is a very good trait in my opinion, not a negative.
Especially when it produces blooms almost non-stop, like my 'Heritage' does, and stays pretty healthy here.
But then, I enjoy roses as garden plants, not production plants for vase displays.

I'll admit that the rose does drop its petals after three days, but it never occurred to me that this might be a drawback. I never cut roses to bring inside. I'd rather have them on the plant.

Mine died over winter (zone 3 and protected) and I never got a single bloom! Maybe I should try it in a pot. Austins are usually pretty good bets in zone 3, but Heritage, Molineux and Abe Darby died for me. If the production is so great, might be worth the try!

I just planted this rose yesterday so I was SOOOO happy to see this post! I love all my austins so I'm sure i'll be very happy with Heritage as well. Thanks for all the beautiful pictures to make me excited for mine to hurry up and grow and bloom!

I just purchased a huge 3' Heritage for $20 at my local nursery, I don't think they knew what they had! It has a bit of blackspot from being shoved in the back of the greenhouse and forgotten, but I am so excited! Thanks for the great information and pictures, I just hope that mine look as nice someday!

i love my heritage roses but they drop their petals after 3 days
