Maybe not so tall where you are, maybe 2' tall... It will be interesting to see in a month. What is the yellow flower, it's pretty. Is it the other Parade?

Yup, it's the other Parade. Keeping them company are a lime green ipomea (sp? sweet potatoe vine), variegated ivy, a pink wave petunia, blue annual salvia, swedish ivy.

Like my whole garden LAF - the roses will only have to compete for space with the salvia, as all else will trail down. Other than the roses, it's the usual suspects in that barrel for me - normally I've used geraniums or daisies as the "centerpiece". I'll try to remember to post in a month or so, so we can see who's winning.

Watch that cane, if it keeps growing and gets larger than 3ft, you may just have a "sport" cane growing from your rose bush.In the pics though it doesn'tlook out of place as the Parade roses do get large.

Hi Morden Man,

The cane appears to have gone in to stasis after that burst of growth - isn't even unfurling the leaves fully. I think the rose finally realized after a couple of days that she'd been transplanted. Am leaving it and waiting to see what she does with it.

If they get nice & big, I'll figure my cheapie Loblaws garden center buy will have been worth it.

Many different kinds of roses will send up a 'candelabra' cane. Isn't really a sport since roses propagated from it will be normal size. You can let it go and enjoy the unusual display or cut it back if you want to keep the bush looking neat.
