Hungarian Semi-Hot Block Pepper

For many years I have raised Hungarian Semi Hot block peppers. This year my seed yielded a pepper that resembles the long hot variety. I raised my plants from seed obtained in Florida as I have for several years with satisfactory results. Semi Hot Block Plants obtained from local nurseries by several of my friends also yielded the same elongated pepper. Where can I obtain Hungarian Semi Hot Block Pepper seeds for next year?

I've not heard of that one. Does it have another name? Who did you buy it from?

    Hi Trink,
I have been looking high and low for this pepper as well. My mother in law lives in Ohio and used to grow these and now all i can find is called Hungarian Stuffing Pepper. Not as big as the block but close.

P.S. John these are semi-hots but wider than the regular hot wax. If it is out there I am sure you know about it. :)
Maybe someone can help us both :)

    John,
As far as I know, the name is "Hungarian semi hot block"
I have been purchasing the seeds from "The Pepper Gal" in Ft. Lauderdale Florida. I was born and raised on a vegetable farm here in Ohio and my father grew this variety every year. Thanks for the response.

I used to order seeds from her but had a problem with some of them not coming true. Don't find the 'block' reference but is it anything like this pepper?

Meszaros9, Sir, thanks for the response. The hungarian Stuffing pepper sounds exactly what it was used for. I mentioned to John that the seed was purchased from "The Pepper Gal" in Ft. Lauderdale Florida. I also ordered the "Hungarian Short Rainbow Wax" Those peppers were listed with the hot pepper varieties, however, they were totally sweet. They did resemble the Medium Hot Block variety in that they were approximately 4" long and 3" wide with 4lobes.

John, I went to Sieger seed Co website. They did mention that the variety did have some genetic variations. I will order some seeds for next spring. Persently, I have a friend who is vacationing in Hungary this week. His father also was a farmer who grew this variety. I've asked him to bring back some seeds if it is possible. Not sure with customs and all. Thanks for the input.

I have been looking for same pepper. Medium Hot Block variety in that they were approximately 4" long and 3" wide with 4 lobes. Uncle in Warren Ohio found some seeds from a pepper grower who shared some seeds but would not reveal his seed supplier. I'm going to try this supplier

I live in barberton ohio and I fond this bock semi hot pepper a a green house. I had never heard of them before but they are growing right now in my little garden. I was just curious how big they are supposed to get at maturity. They are fat and wide about two inches wide and three inches long, If you would like I will send you some seeds from them. Send me a message at plumbbobxz0@gmail.com if you want some of the seeds.
