I have three books from the public library, with the info in the first two
I planned what to plant where, so that annums, baccatum and chinense would not cross. It was possible to figure out with the three books side by side, for a newbie. One is the Complete Chili Pepper Book by Dave DeWitt & Paul W. Bosland, 2009 page 107 has the crossing possibilities. The best book overall. Timber Press. The other is Chile Peppers but out by Brooklyn Botanic Garden in their 21st Century Garden Series, 1999 so somewhat out of date for varieties. The third is The Everything Hot Sauce Book by Angela Garbes, very helpful variety lists by type. Published 2012 by Adams media. Free from the library and I can request they order the book you are talking about. It sounds like something I would like.

Also check online for used copies. Amazon, eBay, abc books, etc. The NuMex publication is a specialty book and unlikely to be available used, but you never know. abc Books especially.
