I was weeding out a shady bed filled with violets and found a rose growing through the weeds. It was sadly mildewy but I propped it up on a trellis and it leafed out and bloomed! The previous homeowner must have planted it but it's funny, I've lived here for 4 years now and this is the first time I've noticed it. Of course it's also the first time I've attempted to garden in this bed.
