Does it have thorns?
Is it a Spring bloomer or does it bloom again in summer or fall or ?

Thanks for responding collinw. The rose has no thorns. It had a heavy flush recently, but now I can see that the blooms are getting old. I would say it blooms in spring; can't recall if it blooms less during the summer.

I think I've i.d. my climbing rose as a Bourbon Rose 'Zephirine Drouhin'. Can someone confirm this? Thanks.

That looks very 'Zepherine Drouhin' to me, yes.

I thought Zepherine Drouhin as well, that's why I asked if it had thorns or not. Beautiful example of a great old rose.

Yesterday I spotted a few Evelyn roses intermingled with ZD! I really need to move Evelyn from there because I don't get to see her up close.
