Thanks for the reply. I had considered ZD... thornless, pinkish... but my found rose has probably 70 petals (ZD only 30).. and mine is much much more "blue"...I put a ZD in my garden this year and her leaves are considerably darker green and much larger...

From a distance, my found rose, resembled pictures I've seen of Tauchsendon (sp?).. is that any help?

Ok..have a couple things...for a second I was think of a boursault that I've found (had help ID'ing it) and have it on help me find (under either boursault or Maheca). However, it doesn't have that many petals. Is purplish/pink, nearly thornless....so ruled that out...

Now however is my other long shot...any clue on where it came from or how old (any people at homes to tell you how long it has been there?) I have been researching Prof. Hansen's roses for a few years now...he had one that in one reference book (Gerd Krussmann's Roses) it says one of his later released roses ('Pax Iola') very much resembles Taushenschon (sp?) I haven't seen a 'Pax Iola' (don't know if there are any left--have tried contacting experiment stations from that era as well) but do have a 'Pax Apollo'. Both are supposed to be a good 7 tall and thornles...can dig out the detailed descriptions if you'd like. He also had one that was nearly thornless called 'Yawa'...

Let me know if you'd like me to dig out some info...never know, Suzy found one of his 'Zitkala's at an experiment station in Maryland I believe. They were developed in the late 30s/early 40s for what it is worth if you can find people who know the rose/residence/whatever...
