It will help the ID if you describe growing habit - age, height/width, thorn description, cane description, repeat or not, cluster size (if any), etc.

The picture shows it when it was in its first summer at my house. I bought it in one of those plastic wrapped root-balls with the wax-covered canes sticking out packages. It has now lived in my yard for three years and is about 8 or 9 feet tall, although it probably would have been taller by now -- I had to prune back a lot after last year's nasty winter. It has thick canes, a lot of thorns (big ones too!)and many blooms. They repeat and last past Labor Day. I don't think they really cluster, there is usually about three inches between blooms on a branch.
