The leaves look like those of a rugosa rose - but which variety?

Thanks Cecilia...that's sort of what I thought too! It's a gorgeous rose bush. And right now it's full of blooms! I saw it on my bus route and would love a cutting or two from it. I just might stop and ask the lady!! :))

Yea, it definitely has rugosa foliage. Doesn't seem to be red enough to be Linda Campbell, maybe Hansa?

I was thinking possiby The Hunter which is often a true red and somtimes reminds me of an old Bourbon in it's bloom form.

Ginni, if it is Roseraie de L'Hay, it will have a wonderful scent that you'll never want to stop smelling. Roseraie also sends out baby roses from the roots, so keep your eye on the ground.
