I'll start with Rose #2 -- if it's darker red than your photo shows, with whitish toward the middle of the flower, you probably have the rootstock rose Dr. Huey. There was probably another rose there originally -- the grafted part of that one died, and the rootstock is what you have now. Here's a photo I took the other week of a beautiful Dr. Huey blooming at an old house site.

Rose #1 appears to be Dr. W. Van Fleet, or New Dawn. The leaves and flowers of these two are identical -- the only difference is that Dr. W. Van Fleet is a once-bloomer, and New Dawn blooms repeatedly through the growing season. Both are large climbers, very healthy and disease resistant. FYI, Dr. W. Van Fleet is one of my very favorite roses. Here's a photo of mine:

Is there something bad about Dr Huey? You say it was probably root stock, is there a reason not to let it grow?

Nothing particularly bad about Dr. Huey. It blooms once, and it's really prone to fungal diseases around here, but there's no reason to get rid of yours if you want to keep it. Get it on a preventative fungicide spray program so you'll have leaves on it this summer.
