Is it fragrant? If so, it looks a lot like one I grow called Mister Lincoln which has been a very popular variety for many years. It could also be a relative called Chrysler Imperial.

It's not terribly difficult to grow roses, and by your photo, yours looks fine. I don't feel comfortable advising you on how to care for it, because what's right for my California roses could be wrong for yours in Kentucky. Our climates and soils are quite different.
