Definitely not PERFECT MOMENT. Looks like RIO SAMBA to me.

In real life it looks nothing like either Perfect moment not Rio Samba. The flowers are produced in many clusters, are somewhat small, vary in color with the heat/cold-usually when it is cold/low sun, they come out yellow, and with lots of sun they turn cherry red. In summer, they usually start with some shade of golden orange and quickly turn very red. The individual flowers are usually approx.21/2"-3", with 4-7+ in a cluster. Definitely not a tea rose.

I had not considered Judy Garland-actually don't know if I have ever seen one in real life, or at least not up close and personal-the coloration is close-my faux Joey is almost a dead ringer for Charisma, but bigger flowers, and Rumba, but again bigger and the bush is much taller than either. I noticed that both of these had many generations of offspring, with so many not well known nor pictured on HMF-and I was considering that I might have a not much in commerce offspring? It is so healthy and productive that I thought it might be some older variety that one just doesn't see anymore, but probably should. Does Judy Garland have long lasting flowers,take heat well, cut well, and not susceptible to rust not mildew? We don't get blackspot here.

I think I just identified this rose-an oldie-Pinata! I have pruned mine hard, which may account for it not looking much like a climber-or maybe it is a more shrubby form. The prickles, foliage, hips, buds, and of course the flower all fits Pinata. I just don't think of mine as more than a vigorous tall shrub. And I never have had a problem with thrips or mildew, which might be a problem it sounds like. Anne
