I would go with a monotone backsplash because of the pattern in the counter- which is lovely btw. What color accessories do you have? Go with something complimentary. What colors do you have on your dishes? Sagey or mossy green is always nice with honey oak, as is soft gold, or terracotta. Throw safe out the window and go with a color that makes you happy. If you're still not sure, go to a virtual paint site online and play with color. The color you keep coming back to is probably the one that you will be most happy with. Good luck and have fun.

Are you painting, refacing, or replacing cabinets?

I think this kitchen has a great shape to it. Much dimension and interest can be added with just the painting you do.

I think a fresh buttercream color subway tile would look fabulous on the backsplash. Keep the backsplash on the quiet side because of the noisier granite below.

For the window, I would go with a roman shade. Probably a grass roman shade or some earthy feeling fabric to add a little softness without getting in the way.

Hi---It looks like your appliances are bone/cream so I wouldn't go with dark cabs, rather something the same color as the appliances, or a shade lighter. You could do an antique finish over top either a warm gray or soft brown to pick up color from your countertop. As for a backsplash, I suggest doing the entire wall-minus the soffit. It will be money well spent considering the overall impact and improvement it will make for this kitchen. Window treatments, Roman shades. nice counters. if you dont plan on changing out cabinets or removing that bulkhead then id leave cabinet color as is or paint white. paint walls a green shade and add a glass back splash. if you want to go dark on the cabinets id paint the walls a nice beige shade..but dark cabs look better with stainless steel appliances
