Shelley, sorry, no. A bloom bud after only two weeks is not a good sign at all. Cuttings aren't good at multi-tasking, and if this one is trying to bloom, it probably hasn't even begun the rooting process. And it won't so long as energy is going to that bud. I'd pinch it immediately. You aren't going to get a decent bloom without roots anyway, so there's no point in letting the cutting wear itself out.

When you see roots on a cutting (and you eventually will, if you keep at it) the next step is to gradually wean the new plant away from its dependence on the baggie. Then let it grow for at least another week or two to give the roots time to branch out some and work their way through the coir before moving it to a larger pot. If you try to transplant it too early the root ball will fall apart, which greatly increases the risks from transplant shock. It's best to keep the root ball as intact as possible when you pot up a cutting rooted in any sort of organic medium.

Thanks, rosyone! That should have occurred to me, I was excited, and very new to all of this. By the way, did I mention how much I am disliking the weather this spring, like everyone else the way it looks! We just got another 1" or so of wet sloppy snow this morning. How discouraging!

It's been raining cats and dogs off and on all day here, and to make matters worse, I have a bad cold. I had the day off anyway and had hoped to spend it out in the garden. It's only the 10th of April and I've already fallen about 9 years behind with my spring chores.

We did need the rain, though. We've had the driest spring I've ever seen here.
