Mutation. The variety is Knock Out. Knock Out has produced several "sports" or mutations, including Pink Knock Out and Blushing Knock Out. Every so often, it will produce a bloom (or two or three) with multiple colors like this one. I have a Blushing Knock Out that sometimes shows half light pink, half dark pink, and some with stripes.

She can mark that cane, and if more blooms with the same coloring appear, try to root it. More often than not, it is a one-off occurrence.
