Can I save or propagate Graham Thomas?

My Graham Thomas has been limping along so I moved him about 2 months ago. He's done well (even bloomed) but yesterday the dogs broke off the single remaining cane.

Can I propagate this cane? There are additional smaller canes from this one.

Austins are said to root from cuttings easily. Check the propagation forum and you will find a wealth of information on rooting from cuttings. The fact that it has already bloomed indicates the wood is mature enough. Make sure you get a piece of cane that has a bloom that has not opened so it has more 'energy' left in it for rooting. If I were you I would take several so you have increased odds of success. But don't wait too long.

Thanks triple_b. Unfortunately I don't have any canes with a bloom but I'm going to try.

It looks like I may end up with propagated cuttings AND the original root stock coming back!
