wanted: A Virginia Rose bush. I want this for a friend who wants it to make a tea. If you don't have one but know of a vendor that sells them I can give that to her. Please e-mail or call me with any info or if you can provide one or even a start. Thank you.

The species Rosa virginiana has many fine qualities, including abundant large red hips in fall.
Finding a supplier is difficult.
We have several seedling plants from 2009 in 1/2 gal pots; unfortuately, it isprobably illegal to ship potted plants across state lines.
Highcountryroses.com sells a similar species, R. pomifera, for $16.95; theirdescription says that pomifera produces "very large, red, flavorful hips."

Rogue Valley Roses lists it in stock, Vintage Gardens has it as "custom root".
