You can lift them up carefully and look. Don't to anything else until you see roots. Then you know they are rooted.

My guess is that New Dawn should take about 6 weeks (average to fast).

Woohoo! One of my eight has roots! I can see them through the clear picnic cups! 3 of them have new growth! It has only been 3 weeks.

So excited! I have 5 of eight rooting! They have visible roots and some new leaves. When Do I pot them up?

I started 8 rose cuttings back the end of May and found out they are minature roses. They have new growth on all of them and by just barely pulling on them I can tell they have roots. I am going to leave them until the root system is full in the clear milk jug that I started them in. I used the 2 liter bottle and mild jug to root them. You should try that method. If you don't know about it let me know and I will send the information to you.

Definatley let them build up some more roots before you disturb them. A little more time and maybe a little air (take off the cap for a few minutes at time and work your way clear)
I am happy to hear about your success. I have a mini that has rooted well with the mason jar method (I think it would have rooted well in a sand box LOL) and I just started a HT in the soda bottle method and so far so good.
