If those arches are recessed, perhaps a display area or bookshelves might be nice additions? Only after whitewashing your brickwork, which I think might help you in creating a blank canvas. Hope the other Houzzers out there have more suggestions, keep us posted and good luck!

Thank you! Yes they are recessed. We have thought about putting shelving in, possibly lights behind stained glass? Just need some help on where to go with this. Its a huge beautiful room with a big picture window. The house has the same arches on the front porch

painting the recesses and adding shelves for understated display items will go with the toned down whitewash of the brick. pretty landscaping.

I like Jamiesan's pics. Stained glass does not seem too popular at present. More pictures that are lighter would be helpful for people to see your space. Lovely home. Are you planning on changing furniture or any other areas of the room?

The gun cabinet in the corner is going, the blanket over the ottoman is for the dog. The furniture will be staying, just updating pillows & throws. We just go the house a year ago, it was a foreclosed home. We have done a lot of work so far. This room was dark brown paneling that he painted 2 tones of gray and put chair molding around. Just need to finish it and brighten it up. Thank you! We did the landscaping ourselves. You couldn't even see the front of the house when we got it, vines growing all over it. There is a lovely grape vine on the end of the house we kept!

Just a thought.. you could hire an artist to paint so it looks like windows looking to the outdoors. But, they have to be good, to look great.

That was also an idea... I am going to check the local schools/colleges to see if they have a program where the students do this! Thank you! My husband can cut a board to size of the arches and take to them.... that way if we ever wanted to change it wouldn't be that hard. Thank you everyone! :)
