shibbys, you know, there's a lot to be said for white walls. I have a long dark hallway, no natural light, and only one skimpy light fixture. It was painted a dark beige when we moved in, I painted it off-white about a month ago. What a difference!

Maybe it's possible to paint an accent wall? Kind of like dipping your toes in the pool before you dive in!

thanks for all your ideas. Dytecture - I really love the purple with the white- its my sort of look. Problem is I have huge windows and mistakely have beige curtains on them that are too expensive to change - any ideas on how to tie it together

Trim them in purple. Love purple and beige.
