Hi, I find it to be not necessary to have a hydroponics setup. I just use a big under the bed storage container, actually 4 of them, for my 4'x6' indoor garden, and I use a soil less mix for the potting medium (the one we get here is called pro-mix), and when I need to water, I get a 10 litre jug (spring water comes in these), fill it, and then pour it into the under the bed container. Once a week or so I might mix in some soluble fertilizer like miracle-gro. So it's half way like hydroponics, but without the hassle of doing e.c., etc, and I can leave them for a few days without attention. Right now I'm repotting 72 rooted rose cuttings. My success rate was only 1 in 3, but luckily I stuck quite a few. My setup only allows for 72 pots 6"x6"x6.5". The garden is lit with 10 1241cw Lithonia shoplights T8's. It looks real nice at the moment. :) Paul Mozarowski.

I heard that you can improve rooting rate by making sure there is plenty of oxygen in the water. An aquarium air pump is the best way to get oxygen into the water. Also you can splash water around for watering using aquarium pump and a timer. So it's all automatic.
