As to Aristea ecklonii not blooming in two years, something is definitely wrong with your growing conditions if this is not in almost constant bloom in southern or northern California. It is practically a weed here with virtual constant bloom off and on in the warmer months if it is regularly deadheaded. Be careful of A. ecklonii in irrigated gardens, as it spreads around quite easily from seed and can take over...
