Do you plan on transplanting up before you put them in your garden plot?

I start my seed in a similar sized tray,after they get get their first leafs,I pop the little seedlings out and transplant into 72 cell flats,and keep them under floro lights till its time to plant out.

If you don't need that many seedlings(I grow a bunch)the big box stores sell smaller seedling trays.Just make sure you use a good potting mix!

I only transplant into larger pots. What potting mix have you used with success? I have been told many things by many people, and usually when I try it, it is less than I expect.

Recently I was told by Craig from Redwood Seeds to use Miracle Grow with Perlite 2 parts Miracle Grow and 1 part Perlite. I wanted to follow his advice to the letter to get his seeds to germinate and grow. He said this is a good medium for seeds as well as plants.

Prior I have used a mix of soil like Miracle Grow mixed with perlite, vermiculite and spagnum Peat moss. Worked well for some hot peppers bad for others.

I just use the regular ol'MG potting mix with the water control beads already mixed in.A lot of people say not to,but I've always had very good luck with it.My way of thinking,if it ain't broke,don't fix it!LOL!
