I have no idea how 'Leopard Bat' got associated with
fischeri, and it should not be used. I've never heard the
term used other than with hallii. No wonder folks remain
confused about names when there's so many erroneous ones
being used, and so many plants have sometimes a dozen
different common names. Commercial sources are as much at
fault for this as anyone, and probably are the main cause
of the confusion. Bob Smoley lists the 'Leopard Bat' name
on both hallii and fischeri, but the problem is pervasive
among commercial sources in general.
