there are several Email-groups at Yahoo, two of them English.

The "Sansevieria" group is more earnest, led by an occasionally gruff person who works mainly on Sans taxonomy. A good place for IDing.

The "Sansevierias" group is not that precise in ID and has lots of off-topic threads and small talk. It is easy-going and friendly. This group is run by Hermine, with Norma a big contributor.

The society is a must if you are earnestly interested in the genus, since the journals are the most accurate and most actual source of information.

If asked we really get down to business and try to be of help. When we are bored we chat.
We welcome all that are not trouble makers just for the heck of it. We want all to feel comfortable. I talked to Hermine last night, we all read the San. Journal so we are up to date. We give plants away in season, it is not an exchange, we don't expect any thing back. It is a group and not a soriety. Thank you Helli, Terri you would be welcome. Norma

Thank you. Norma. I have joined the "Sansevieria" yahoo group and am already receiving discussion e-mail. The "SansevieriaS" group has me on a pending list. I have also joined the ISS and was able to order ALL of their journals. These are on the way.

Our garden club is hosting a prsentation this month by Art Scarpa from the Mass Succulent Society--I have asked him if he would bring up some Sansevierias, and he graciously agreed to do so.

I think I am becoming obsessed...

Hello Norma
My Sans journals arrived today--#1-16 (the rest are comiong from the UK). I have some great reading ahead! I have been trying to access the Sansevierias group postings on Yahoo. It has been several days, and I still get this message: "Your membership is awaiting approval by the group owner." :-(
