I was glad to see a sharp-tailed snake in my garden today... I hope there are lots more, because they eat slugs. I used to put out snail bait, but am now trying to garden without chemicals. Wish me luck. ;-) I am convinced that the squirrels are eating some of my plants, as well. The various Salvia splendens seem to be at most risk of getting eaten.

We put out beer in small cat food size cans dig it in the soil so it is even with the soil. Slugs are attracked to the beer
fall in and cannot get back out.Make sure you don't have snails as they will do the same type damage too.
