The only change I have seen in S.regla is a pink mutation
which shows its close relationship w/S.sessei.First White foliage you obviously have no chlorophyll in the seedlings.

I found it, Thank you. A bug came by and passed up all the other green reglas and chomped off the first set of true leaves last night. . So i guess it is tastier than the green. Maybe like Albino asparagus. There are brown edges starting to form on the leaf edges so I think I might be on the death watch of the cute little white one. No six foot white foliaged regla with red blossoms in my future. LOL, I did dream about it, last night.

With no chlorophyll at all, the seedling will die once it has used all of the stored food from the seed. I've seen this also. Magnesium and a trace of manganese are necessary to make chlorophyll. Perhaps these were never built into the seed's storage.

Hmmm, this is interesting. A few weeks ago I started 4 Salvia regla seeds and ended up with two albino seedlings. I've never had an albino seedling from any other Salvia. Perhaps it's more common with this species?
