Yesterday I bought Salvia X Sally Greenwood at the UCB members sale. Anyone know the parentage? The tag just says "cute blue flowers, new hybrid from a Chino, CA propagator."

The picture posted on Flickr looks like S.chamedryoides
is involved.Possible microphylla parentage as well.

Art, my X Sally Greenwood has its first flowers -- it's a looker! The blue is electric. It's seems that Monterey Bay Nursery is the grower/ supplier. But their picture doesn't do it justice!

The color of this sage is what I would expect the true Salvia muelleri or S. coahuilensis would look like. I suspect that the species introduced by Manuel Flores from his old Bandera, TX nursery a long time ago were hybrids, which is a repetition of what he said at the time.
