I have seen two plants that I recall with M in there name
Maraschino Cherry (hybrid of S.Microphylla & S.Greggii).
Monrovia Nursery out of California had a microphylla
they called Marachino really nice plant.Black and white
stems (new growth)w a black calyx both have orange red flowers. The monrovia form had small flowers and leaves
like S.grahammii but a more erect form. It did not survive
summer so I stopped growing it.High Country Gardens also
grows a hybrid called Marachino. I have several Red forms
of S.greggii I am growing. Furmans grows best for me in morning sun & shade the rest of the day.My other reds
are in all day Sun. Hope this helps.

I have a Maraschino Cherry that is 11 years old and is still being gorgeous ALL the time. It is in morning sun and afternoon shade.

I finally remembered , its greggii skylights magenta. Its most likely a hybrid or maybe its the same as furmans red. But I would love the find the magenta. Like I said before the furmans didnt do well for me.

Maraschino was my first introduction, and the High Country Garden one came from me, as did plants from Plant Delights, Logee's and Sandy Mush Herb Farm. I don't know about the other sources.

`Raspberry Royale' and `Dark Dancer' are dark magenta forms of greggii and hybrids.
