If you are in USDA Zone 9, there are a lot of good hummingbird sages for winter bloom.

Hi Rich, I think I am in Zone 9 - northern California where it is dry and winters can be in the 30's and summers can be 105 degrees. I have the more common salvias such as pineapple salvia, wild watermelon and maraschino cherry, etc. They did not do well when we had frost for even 1 night. I lost a few others such as salvia darcyi and the agastaches this past winter. Which salvias do you suggest for winter blooming or more hardy?

I'm growing s. disermas, but cold hardiness is not an issue for me. Betsy says it's hardy to 25 degrees.
