Plant Delights is in Raleigh, NC. I ordered plants from them this spring and was very pleased by their condition. As I recall they've tested the plants in your climate. Not all of them are winter hardy in NC, but should grow in your humid conditions. High Country Gardens in New Mexico also sells interesting salvias, and goes to some trouble to point out the ones that work here in the eastern jungle. If you're not far from Plant Delights I think you'll find that you can arrange a visit, so you might call them. I wish I was close enough to visit. Oh yes, and if you do visit, I'd be interested to know what their place is like.

Try Plant Safari out of California, check out their web site. I've had great luck with them, as well as many of the businesses sited in the thread. Plant Delights Nursery is fantastic but they have a minimum order policy, seems like it was $35 or close to it. But...they ship HUGE plants with HUGE root systems, they must be 2nd year plants they're so big. I have also had excellent luck with a seed company that has been marketing plants, namely, Select Seeds; they have a salvia vendor that also sends really big plants...I have been ordering S. guaranitica from them for the past 3 years. Never have been disappointed.

Also, run, don't walk, to Salvias Northwest, run by Salvia Guy. He also ships plants with very expansive root systems. Very quality stuff, can't say enough good things about the products he ships.

I've been very happy with the Salvias I've obtained from:
Digging Dog Nursery, High Country Gardens and Select Seeds. Digging Dog sends decent-to-large sized plants; HCG and Select Seeds send stuff in 2" pots. I like the bitty plants in bitty pots because they are easier to plant and establish in my harsh, dry climate.
