I have a couple of Salvia lyrata plants. the purple leaves are striking but growing mostly on the ground, and hence ratty. has anyone found this to be problem, and tried to fix it?
It's basically a weed with purplish leaves, not far on the ornamental scale from purple-leaf plantain. It will tend to look ratty at worst, mildly ornamental at best. That's its nature.
