I'm in West Central Illinois and am having no problems. I grow Purple Rain, Caradonna, Plumosa, May Night and East Friesland for my perennials and then salvia elegans/pineapple sage in with my herb section-- and then for annuals the farinacea "blue victoria", coccinea "snow nymph", the horminum "marble arch blue and rose", and then annual for me, guaranitica "sapphire blue".

All types doing well, though due to lack of rain this year I've had to water more often ( things are mulched in my beds also).

Sometimes salvia can get whitefly, and that can turn leaves yellow spotted plus. Have you shook a stem and looked for any insects?

Caradonna was the first to bloom for the perennials and is now having a 2nd flush. Plumosa is still on first flush, and the May Night ect are beginning to go a second time here soon. Purple Rain is on it's first, but this one always has blooms as long as I keep cutting off the tired bloom heads.
