odd Salvia Greggii ... two flower colors!

I have no idea how to look this up, but I have a S. greggii volunteer that literally has two completely different color flowers! One is a bright violet, the other a soft coral. They're growing out of the same plant. Could two plants have been splice accidentally? Does this happen in nature?
